I'm a big girl

No, not me: S-Boogie. She went pee in her potty for the very first time tonight. I've gotten her to sit on it and try before her bath, since she has her clothes off anyway. So far nothing had happened. But tonight she got up, looked inside, and showed me that she had peed in there! Wow!

The truth is, this doesn't really mean a lot, since she still can't get her own pants off or tell me when she needs to go. I'm not really ready to train her yet, either. I kind of like the diaper thing, to tell you the truth. But, this is a step in the right direction. And now I get to go clean the pee out of the potty. Joy.

I will confess that I left the pee in the potty for a while so Master Fob could come home and see it. Becoming a parent makes you do funny things...

I thought it was pretty cool. I suspected, though, that Foxy was just putting off cleaning it out. We agreed that we'll encourage S-Boogie to learn to go in the real toilet--we're not sure cleaning out a little potty is any better than cleaning a dirty diaper.

LOL. True. There are these neat little cushie seats that go right over the big one that are small enough for tiny tushies.

Don't get too excited, TB, since tonight she took off her diaper and then peed on the living room carpet. Potty training is still a work in progress. (Don't worry, it's been cleaned up, so you can feel safe sitting on our floor)

I have a problem when it comes to buying shoes. Well, it's actually a problem with buying clothing in general. I'm cheap. Very cheap. Happy, Happy Blog-day Foxy Dear

Tomorrow marks the second anniversary of my blog. I had no idea where my life would go when I started this blog, and it's fun for me to read back through the archives and remember feelings and events that I have already forgotten. I think the most surprising thing about blogging that I have discovered is the sense of community. I have about fifty blogs that I follow somewhat regularly; many of them are people I haven't ever met in person. I still consider them to be my friends. I've been very grateful for all the virtual support I've received from so many people who don't really even "know" me. Miss Nemesis recently celebrated her blog's special day by asking lurkers to come out of the woodwork and reveal who they were and how they found her blog. She got 52 comments. If you want to make my day, see if you can top her numbers. Maybe then I can change my blognym to "Queen of the Universe".
