A nice combination

Breyers french vanilla ice cream, dark chocolate-covered pretzels, and ER season three on DVD. You know, back in the day I always was in love with Dr. Ross, but I've now decided that Dr. Carter is my favorite. He's cute, good with kids, and even when he acts like a jerk it's hard to hold it against him because at least he's not as bad as Dr. Benton.

Mmm, the whole reason why I started watching the show was because of George Clooney - even in Jr. High he melted my butter. Enjoy your ice cream with pretzels and eye candy!

I also preferred Carter myself; I didn't really appreciate George Clooney till Ocean's Eleven. Dark chocolate covered anything is pretty much a go, though.

The Truth Comes Out

I have a problem when it comes to buying shoes. Well, it's actually a problem with buying clothing in general. I'm cheap. Very cheap. I tend to have arbitrary price limits in my head and refuse to buy anything that costs more than that. This does come in handy considering our limited funds for things like clothing and shoes, but it also means that I tend to have a wardrobe of odd, non-matching, ill-fitting clothes. While it's true that I have found some great things at thrift stores and on clearance, I definitely have other clothes that are just plain lame. I will often choose to buy things because they are cheap, even sacrificing what I really want because it doesn't fit my predetermined price conventions. Living with ideals

The first thing on my agenda in Davis was a lunch with some of the current graduate students. One of them asked me a question about my last name and my heritage, to which I replied that it was my husband's last name. That got me some fairly strange looks. Then there was the fact that I didn't order coffee after lunch with all of them. And then there was the awkwardness (more than once during the last few days) of trying to explain why I lived in Spain for over a year and didn't see any movies, go to any plays, or study at the university. Oh, and the fact that I don't drink wine and even though I'm not quite thirty I have been married for almost seven years and have two kids. Man, I am such a weirdo. I lived in Utah for so long that I became very comfortable in not having people think some of the things I do are strange.
