5 Things

I've probably done stuff like this before, but I figured I'd jump on the bandwagon since three of my friends have done it.

Five things I Was Doing Ten Years Ago

1. Getting ready for finals. Hating myself for taking dumb classes like Psych 101 or History 122 just because they sounded "fun".

2. Working for the Youth and Family Programs office. At this point in the year I think we would have been gearing up to get ready for EFY registration by phone.

3. Going to College Bowl practice a lot.

4. Finding a Christmas present for the boy I wasn't really waiting for (we didn't really date), but was writing on his mission. I don't remember what I sent him, but I must have sent him something.

5. I honestly don't remember anything else from this time in my life. It was my second year at BYU and nothing much happened that year that was too memorable. Oh, one of my roommates that I had also roomed with freshman year was engaged. Uh, yeah, that's all I remember.

Five things on my To Do List

1. Write a statement of purpose for my Berkeley application so I can get it all sent in.

2. Clean the fridge because it is way too stinky.

3. Resolve the stupid bill that the doctor's office keeps bugging me about from March. I can't seem to get a hold of the insurance company to find out why they don't want to cover it.

4. Make a tortilla de patatas for Monday's review day/party in my class.

5. Eat up all the food in the fridge by the time we leave next Friday evening.

Five things I'd do if I was a Millionaire

1. Invest some so that I could still have money later.

2. Put a big down payment on a house (well, next year when we move).

3. Buy a newer, nicer car.

4. Go to Europe on a big vacation.

5. Have a big party with fancy imported cheeses and other exotic foodstuffs.

Five Things I'd Never Do Again

1. Hire the wedding photographer we used. Not only was he a creep, he took really bad pictures. At least he's in jail now.

2. Quit a job without having a new one already in place.

3. Quit writing in my journal while on my mission. I really should have spent more time on that so I would have a better record of that time in my life.

4. Get a perm or have giant bangs. I've finally made my peace with having straight hair.

5. Buy clothes or shoes without really trying them on. Or getting them even if they don't quite fit because they're cheap. (I'm still working on this).

Five Favorite Toys

1. I love my little paper cutter. I use it all the time for putting together assignments for my class.

2. I also love my all-in-one printer. It's a little cheap and I know it won't last forever, but I love being able to scan photos and make photocopies. It's a life-saver for teaching (since I don't have an office and have to drive 30 minutes to the campus work room).

3. I'm still in love with my immersion blender that I got for Christmas a few years ago.

4. I love my laptop.

5. My dad just sent me a cool new roasting pan like my grandma had. No more roasting turkeys in Pyrex casserole dishes.

Five Things I've Read Recently

1. Blogs, blogs, blogs.

2. Really liked this article.

3. I've been trying to read The Madwoman in the Attic for several weeks, but I've given up. It's interesting and I feel virtuous by catching up on theory that I've never read before, but it's so dense that I'm having a very hard time working through it, especially since I do a lot of reading while my kids are jumping on me.

4. Recently received copies of The Ensign and BYU Magazine. I read anything that comes my way.

5. Explore With Dora, The Dora Storybook, Open the Barn Door, Tonka Fire Truck--way, way too many times! Make it stop, please!

Five People I’m Tagging

I just realized that sounded weird. He actually got arrested for taking and distributing kiddie porn. Very BAD pictures.

I took History 122 for fun too.

Because I am a nerd.
